Suggested Supply List:

Watercolor Paper
  • 5 x 7 or 6 x 8 Arches 140# CP paper
  • Scrap of Arches 140# CP for testing colors

Watercolor Paints
  • Cobalt Blue
  • Cerulean Blue
  • French Ultramarine or Ultramarine Blue
  • Sap Green
  • Quinacridone Violet
  • Quinacridone Burnt Orange
  • Quinacridone Gold or Raw Sienna
or Yellow Ochre

These are the colors I used. You may use what you have in your palette.

Watercolor Brushes
  • #8 round with a good point
      ( I use a synthetic brush)
  • another round brush
(# 8 or #10 to dampen or blend with clear water)
  • 3/4 inch flat (synthetic)
  • old brush or stick or toothpick
(to apply masking fluid - do not use a good brush)

You may use your favorite brushes for painting this lesson. DO NOT use a
good brush to apply the masking fluid. The Masque Pen has an applicator tip
so no brush is needed.

Other Tools and Supplies
  •  Masking Fluid (I used Masque Pen for this lesson)
  •  Plastic Card (such as a Credit Card)
  •  Paper towels or tissues
Hint: Another option is to write a
greeting in the foreground snow
if you are painting a greeting card. >>>>>>
